[CHECK OUT THIS ONE THE BEAT IS DROPPIN] My Top Block Rockin Beats of September

(SHM’s Last Show in Ibiza at USHUAIA)

I know it’s been a while since my last post so I took special care in bringing you all some unique sounds. Carefully handpicked from the now massive EDM world. I don’t bother to try to keep up with the Dancing Astronaut and Beat My Day bloggers, because I just don’t have the time to do that, but I filter through what they and others post and try to give you my version of the best. Ready let’s go:

This one is a release from Tiesto’s label Musical Freedom. Albin Myers hasn’t had a whole lot, but he has done some remixes and released this KILLER single. BEAST MODE!

The Beast – Albin Myers

Okay now that you’ve settled down from that one let’s take it down a notch with one that’s a little more chill (and by chill I mean only 250 BPM…). Tom Starr is the one that is responsible for bringing you the amazing mix of “African Drop” which I posted last time. The song has been played in Ingrosso, Alesso, and Dirty South’s sets. Here’s a new one from Tom in which he associates himself with Deadmau5 on Mau5trap Records. It was played on Dirty South’s Phazing Radio in August.

Home – Tom Staar

Mentioning Dirty South let’s take a look at his new record with Michael Brun. Dirty South has done tracks with this guy a couple times and Michael Brun has also mixed Those Usual Suspects’ “Burn Forever” which is on Dirty South’s Phazing Records. This one is going to be yet another mind blowing single fresh off City of Dreams!

Rift – Michael Brun & Dirty South

Here’s a bonus from Michael Brun for you too. This was popular around Ultra time period:

Rise – Michael Brun

Now for a big funky bass line and huge drops. This one is from Felguk and Yves V. Both have produced some pretty sick remixes, but this collaboration will blow you out of the water.

WOW – Yves V & Felguk

Next up is Dada Life. These two crazy swedes are touring around the world with Tiesto right now as their opening act (or “were” until Tiesto broke his back). Known for some very different singles, they very rarely do collaborations and tend to stick to themselves, but they have one hell of a cult following (i.e the bananas). This one certainly lives up to their reputation:

Feed the Dada – Dada Life

BONUS REMIX:
Feed the Dada (Dyro Remix) – Dada Life    (might be better than the original…)

Sander Van Doorn brings the heat! This track was #1 on Dancing Astronaut in August. It encompasses all aspects of EDM and moves from Progressive to Electro to Dubstep’yy. It’s an amazing track.

Kangaroo – Sander Van Doorn & Julian Jordan

These next two guys are known for producing some huge house anthems. They produced “Roll the Dice” together back in early 2012. It was a huge dance anthem across Europe and was played by heavy hitters in Miami. They haven’t had a whole lot since then, but this one (along with vocals) is sure to hit anthem status again. Check it out:

Pieces of Light – Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman ft. Jonny Rose

And now I’ll leave the rest of the post to the Swedish House Mafia circle. In the last year or so the SHM boys have really built up their own individual labels; Size, Refune, and Axtone. They surround themselves with the best in progressive house and now they are literally the Swedish House Mafia. They’re like the mob of EDM. No need for an explanation on these tracks, their reputation precedes them. I’ve ranked them for you though!

1. Sunrise (Won’t Get Lost Again) – Tommy Trash vs. The Aston Shuffle (Axtone Records)

2. Lights – Steve Angello & Third Party (Size Records)

3. Lies (Otto Knows Remix) (Refune Records)

4. Reload – Tommy Trash & Sebastian Ingrosso (Refune Records)

5. Pretender (Deniz Koyu Remix) – Miike Snow (Refune Records) MY FAVORITE

And now I’ll finish with a preview of a killer remix of the chart topper “Don’t You Worry Child”:

Don’t You Worry Child (Tom Staar & Kryder Remix) – Swedish House Mafia

That’s all folks! Enjoy! till next time.

[SO YOU THINK YOU CAN RAGE?] INSANE New Tracks, RAGER Festival Recaps Live Sets, and some RAGING Specials

Image

Who’s ready for some BASS LINE INSANITYFACE MELTING BUILD UPS – and BONE CRUSHING DROPS?? Who is ready to RAGE! (or jump). This post is all about the most insane things going on in the EDM world right now. As most of the songs I posted last time are just now being released, I think it’s time to share some of the NEWEST of NEW in EDM with you.

I’m also going to share with you some of the most insane summer festival raging moments that have been going on all over the world in Belgium (Tomorrowland), the UK (SHM Milton Keynes…no not the Olympics), and LA (Kaskade at the STAPLES center). Then I’m also going to give you a little preview of what’s still to come for the end of festival season and some Fall/Winter shows.

So get ready to enter the world of WALBRIDGE WEEKLY TUNES:

First up, ALESSO. This anthem was first played in April at his live sets and is set for official release on August 4th this week. One of my favorite tracks this summer and definitely one of those ‘feel-good’ songs. Alesso is on Sebastian Ingrosso‘s label, Refune Records. Vocals are by Matthew Koma. AMAZING!

Years – Alesso ft. Matthew Koma

Next up we have the same guys that brought you ‘Beating of My Heart‘. Although, it’s not a mix from Matisse & Sadko it is still insanely good. The vocals are from Dan Brown and really go well with this beat. This track is Next To You by M3OX.

Next to You – M3ox ft. Dan Brown

And here’s a special one you guys. ‘Beating of My Heart‘ meets Temper Trap‘s ‘Sweet Dispostion‘. Goes together PERFECT and has been played in sets by Dirty South and Swedish House Mafia members.

Beating of My Sweet Disposition – M3ox vs. The Temper Trap

Now let me bring you back to Alesso for a second. This is a bootleg he has been playing at festivals recently between Nicky Romero & David Guetta‘s ‘Metropolis‘ and Bingo PlayersL’Amour‘. Alesso most likely won’t release this, but other people have done re-boots for us 🙂

L’Amour Metropolis – Bingo Players vs. Nicky Romero & David Guetta

And now who’s ready for one of the most insane BASS lines out there right now! Now I bring you a Tom Staar remix, recently doing work with Deadmau5‘s label mau5trap records. This is his remix of My Digital Enemy & Rob Marmot‘s ‘African Drop‘ (no not African Child). It’s been played by Ingrosso, Axwell, Dirty South, Hardwell, and more. So check it!

African Drop (Tom Staar Remix) – My Digital Enemy & Rob Marmot

Next up we got a massive combination between a Hardwell and a Thomas Gold bootleg. One decided to do a bootleg with One Republic‘s ‘Apologize‘ going into Otto Knows‘ ‘Million Voices‘ and the other did a bootleg with Million Voices and Nari & Milani‘s ‘Atom‘. If you’re not confused yet, combine all of that together and now you have this new bootleg played by Hardwell at EDC Las Vegas.

Million Atoms to Apologize – Otto Knows vs. Nari & Milani vs. One Republic (Ryan Tedder)

And yet another released by Hardwell and Showtek at EDC Las Vegas. A BIG BIG ROOM rager!

How We Do – Hardwell & Showtek

Another combo/bootleg from Alesso. Here he combines his ‘Nillionaire‘, Swedish House Mafia‘s ‘Greyhound‘, and their ‘Antidote’ with Knife Party. Alesso played something similar to this at Tomorrowland 2012.

Greydote Nillionaire – SHM vs. Alesso vs. Knife Party

I’m sorry I just can’t get enough of Alesso‘s tracks. Here’s another one he just did with Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. Swedish House Mafia is literally launching this newly 21 year old to the top of the world. This track is INSANITY!!! It’s called ‘Eclipse‘.

Eclipse – Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Alesso

If you watched Tomorrowland this past weekend then you know that NERVO is releasing tracks like CRAZY! They previewed 3 new songs at the festival and did a great job. Check out the Pixel Cheese remix of their anthem ‘You’re Gonna Love Again‘.

You’re Gonna Love Again (Pixel Cheese Remix) – NERVO

Get that DIRTY DUTCH from DJ Chuckie! Here’s his EDC remix of Antidote. Warning: CRAZY BASS!

Antidote (Chuckie’s EDC Mix) – Swedish House Mafia

And to finish off I have to post something that I already posted before, which I hate doing, but this track is by far the most unreal EDM track out there right now. It’s a killer at every festival, set, concert, and club. Brought to you by no other than Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes with ‘Here We Go‘ on Axwell‘s Axtone label.

Here We Go – Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes

Alright so I know I promised some festival updates, recaps, and previews; but I’ve been writing this for almost 2 hours so I’m signing off for now. But I promise I’ll get to all that later this week. There’s tons to see from our favorite DJs!! So for now enjoy the new tunes. Rage to them, run to them, drive to them, or just listen to them, but most of all enjoy them. RAGE ON!

[WALBRIDGE WEEKLY TUNES IS BACK!!] Run, Run, Run…to EDM

Image

For some reason the same music that we all love to jump and dance to also happens to be great music to run and workout to. It should actually be a pretty easy assumption considering the MASSIVE crescendos, extended build-ups, pounding bass lines, and sudden drops that are EDM (electronic dance music). It feels like the music is saying ‘Go.Go.Go. now SPRINT SPRINT SPRINT’ while keeping a consistent rhythm the whole time. There are some songs I listen to while running that literally fuel my energy and drive me to run at my peak.

Since it’s the summer season and people are running more outside I think it’s the perfect time to fill you in on some great tunes from my running playlist (warning: all electronic):

Roll the Dice – Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman

Here We Go – Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes

The Edge – Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes

These Russian guys are KILLING it lately!^^

Rage – Ralvero

The Veldt (Tommy Trash Mix) – DeadMau5

H8RS – Steve Angello vs. AN21 & Max Vangeli

The Wave (Thomas Gold Mix) – Miike Snow

Watch for this guy to take off later this year! ^^

1234 – Laidback Luke, Chuckie, Martin Solveig

Synergy – Michael Brun & Special Features

Metropolis – Nicky Romero & David Guetta

Walking Alone (Arty Remix) – Dirty South & Those Usual Suspects

Ladi Dadi (Tommy Trash Remix) – Steve Aoki ft. Wynter Gordon

EXCLUSIVE HARDWELL RELEASE:
Chasing the Sun (Hardwell Remix) – The Wanted

And now to finish off with some re-works from the infamous Swedish House Mafia sets. I always save the best for last:

2Night Together Hertz – Deniz Koyu vs. Axwell vs. Eric Prydz

I Love Bullet Promises – Michael Woods vs. Cassius vs. Nero

And now the mix you ALL should have! This one’s FIRE!!!:

Aerodynamic Quasar is Coming Home – Dirty South vs. Daft Punk vs. Hard Rock Sofa

Enjoy! Now go outside…hit the open pavement/grass/treadmill/whatever it is…and RUN!!

More posts to come this summer with a variety of genres for everyone’s music tastes! (except country)

P.S. – If you forgot how to download music for free from Soundcloud, just go back to my older post and freshen up!

{SHMMSG} A Recap of Swedish House Mafia @ Madison Square Garden

How many of you wish you were at Madison Square Garden for this EPIC show? I DO! And so does every SHM fan in America. Too bad the tickets sold out in 9 minutes… Remember when Swedish House Mafia used to be small time? Remember when they made their big break at Ultra 3 years ago? Weird to think that it really hasn’t even been that long, but look at them now!!! The first electronic music show to EVER be played at MSG, and they did a damn good job.

Not only did they play at MSG, they made it a live stream for the whole world to see too! What artists do that?? Very, very few. Most artists (record companies) want your money, therefore you gotta pay for a ticket if you wanna see the show, but SHM and their label allow them to let the whole world see. It just goes to show that they are the real pioneers of this genre of music.

So recap: First, the set up was phenomenal! Most electronic shows are done in a big field, a tent, or a much smaller venue. (the point is that most are done on flat ground, not a stadium setting). The LED screens were set up great and the MASSIVE LED screen in the back made it seem like a huge act. It’s hard to make 3 guys behind a table act in a way that a band would at MSG. Tinie Tempah and John Martin (Miike Snow vocalist from Save the World) made guest appearances to perform for their songs. Axwell had the microphone the majority of the time and spoke to the crowd every once and while. Ingrosso did his signature “sit down drop”. And the 3 ended up standing on top of the turntables a couple times. Making the DJ trio seem just like a rock band up on stage.

Second, the set was spectacular. Each song quickly transitioned into the next, and kept the crowd moving constantly. There were some new ones like Antidote and their new single (rumored to be called ‘Inks’). Check out the set list below:

After the show the group finished up the night with an after show at the Roseland Ballroom.

It was truly a show for history and as I’m sure the attendees can attest…”something you just had to be there for”. Check out some Youtube videos and song clips below:

And on top of all of this…they’ve just sent out teasers via Facebook to their website: www.masquerademotel.com. Counting down to the announcement of ‘Masquerade Motel Miami 2012’. Mark my words…2012 will be a HUGE year for SHM and EDM (and so was 2011).

{HOUSE} Hardwell – Encoded

He’s only 23 years old and the new kid on block in the dance music industry. He’s getting support from Tiesto and Guetta and after producing a bootleg of Steve Angello‘s song “Show Me Love” and Laidback Luke‘s “Be” in 2010 that became one of the biggest dance music hits that year….he’s quickly rising to fame. If you’ve seen his name recently you’ve probably seen it as “ft. Hardwell” or “remixed by Hardwell”. Over the last year he has done a variety of remixes of songs by Armin Van Buuren, Bob Sinclair, Sharam, Fedde Le Grand, Tiesto, and Steve Angello. His style is similar to Swedish House trio and somewhat close to also rookie, Nicky Romero.

AND NOW HIS FIRST HIT SINGLE!! – Ultra Records
Hardwell – Encoded (Original Mix)

Here are some of the mixes he’s done in the past as well:

{HOUSE} Swedish House Mafia Recap + More

Every time you see a picture of these 3 they always look like the happiest people in the world. Well….they should be! Swedish House Mafia hit the electronic music scene hard back in 2009, but before they joined forces each one of them was making incredible music. In fact, they still make amazing music when they are apart. After going to the Masquerade Motel in Miami during Ultra Weekend, I can definitely claim that the majority of the songs they play live are not just Swedish House songs, but more so their individual songs. The funny thing is, these songs are actually better (at least I think so).

Today the trio announced on their Facebook page through a secret code that they will be playing at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas!!! (very jealous I can’t go). And tomorrow they will be releasing their new single (bound to be this summer’s anthem) “Save the World Tonight”. Check out some of each of their hit songs this past year below and links to their tour pages:

Open Your Eyes – Steve Angello/Alex Metric

Sweet Disposition – Temper Trap/Axwell/Dirty South

Meich Clocks – Sebastian Ingrosso/Dirty South
