[TWO FACED] Top 24 Indie/AltRock – Top 24 EDM/House (*including Spotify Playlists)

Instead of typing out every single detail about these songs like I usually do I decided that it would be easier for you and me to just simplify things a little….

I’ve put together two TOP 24 track lists of both Indie/AltRock/Chillwave and EDM/House.

They are set up in SoundCloud sets so it’s all in one music player, and some will have down arrows for downloading. AND…I made Spotify playlists for those of you that use Spotify (keep in mind not all of the songs are on Spotify yet).

Since it’s been a while I’m trying to give you what I think is great music by being super selective. I took each list from about 50 tracks (from the last 2 months) to 24 each, sooo in my opinion these are the best of the best.

After each list I picked ONE track that I think is the best, so don’t forget to check those out! And I have a little surprise for you at the very end…

FIRST UP: Indie/AltRock/Chillwave – TOP TRACKS

#1 Track: KO KO – Float

SPOTIFY PLAYLIST:

NEXT: EDM/House/Dance – TOP TRACKS

#1 Track: CAZZETTE – Beam Me Up (Kill Mode)

SPOTIFY PLAYLIST:

BONUS:
So this little nugget is from the last 15 minutes of Swedish House Mafia’s legendary set in Creamfields 2010. The entire set is amazing, but this mix gives me the ultimate goosebumps.

Swedish House Mafia – 2 Million Ways [Axwell Remix] vs. Bittersweet Symphony vs. Tell Me Why

[CHECK OUT THIS ONE THE BEAT IS DROPPIN] My Top Block Rockin Beats of September

(SHM’s Last Show in Ibiza at USHUAIA)

I know it’s been a while since my last post so I took special care in bringing you all some unique sounds. Carefully handpicked from the now massive EDM world. I don’t bother to try to keep up with the Dancing Astronaut and Beat My Day bloggers, because I just don’t have the time to do that, but I filter through what they and others post and try to give you my version of the best. Ready let’s go:

This one is a release from Tiesto’s label Musical Freedom. Albin Myers hasn’t had a whole lot, but he has done some remixes and released this KILLER single. BEAST MODE!

The Beast – Albin Myers

Okay now that you’ve settled down from that one let’s take it down a notch with one that’s a little more chill (and by chill I mean only 250 BPM…). Tom Starr is the one that is responsible for bringing you the amazing mix of “African Drop” which I posted last time. The song has been played in Ingrosso, Alesso, and Dirty South’s sets. Here’s a new one from Tom in which he associates himself with Deadmau5 on Mau5trap Records. It was played on Dirty South’s Phazing Radio in August.

Home – Tom Staar

Mentioning Dirty South let’s take a look at his new record with Michael Brun. Dirty South has done tracks with this guy a couple times and Michael Brun has also mixed Those Usual Suspects’ “Burn Forever” which is on Dirty South’s Phazing Records. This one is going to be yet another mind blowing single fresh off City of Dreams!

Rift – Michael Brun & Dirty South

Here’s a bonus from Michael Brun for you too. This was popular around Ultra time period:

Rise – Michael Brun

Now for a big funky bass line and huge drops. This one is from Felguk and Yves V. Both have produced some pretty sick remixes, but this collaboration will blow you out of the water.

WOW – Yves V & Felguk

Next up is Dada Life. These two crazy swedes are touring around the world with Tiesto right now as their opening act (or “were” until Tiesto broke his back). Known for some very different singles, they very rarely do collaborations and tend to stick to themselves, but they have one hell of a cult following (i.e the bananas). This one certainly lives up to their reputation:

Feed the Dada – Dada Life

BONUS REMIX:
Feed the Dada (Dyro Remix) – Dada Life    (might be better than the original…)

Sander Van Doorn brings the heat! This track was #1 on Dancing Astronaut in August. It encompasses all aspects of EDM and moves from Progressive to Electro to Dubstep’yy. It’s an amazing track.

Kangaroo – Sander Van Doorn & Julian Jordan

These next two guys are known for producing some huge house anthems. They produced “Roll the Dice” together back in early 2012. It was a huge dance anthem across Europe and was played by heavy hitters in Miami. They haven’t had a whole lot since then, but this one (along with vocals) is sure to hit anthem status again. Check it out:

Pieces of Light – Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman ft. Jonny Rose

And now I’ll leave the rest of the post to the Swedish House Mafia circle. In the last year or so the SHM boys have really built up their own individual labels; Size, Refune, and Axtone. They surround themselves with the best in progressive house and now they are literally the Swedish House Mafia. They’re like the mob of EDM. No need for an explanation on these tracks, their reputation precedes them. I’ve ranked them for you though!

1. Sunrise (Won’t Get Lost Again) – Tommy Trash vs. The Aston Shuffle (Axtone Records)

2. Lights – Steve Angello & Third Party (Size Records)

3. Lies (Otto Knows Remix) (Refune Records)

4. Reload – Tommy Trash & Sebastian Ingrosso (Refune Records)

5. Pretender (Deniz Koyu Remix) – Miike Snow (Refune Records) MY FAVORITE

And now I’ll finish with a preview of a killer remix of the chart topper “Don’t You Worry Child”:

Don’t You Worry Child (Tom Staar & Kryder Remix) – Swedish House Mafia

That’s all folks! Enjoy! till next time.

[SO YOU THINK YOU CAN RAGE?] INSANE New Tracks, RAGER Festival Recaps Live Sets, and some RAGING Specials

Who’s ready for some BASS LINE INSANITYFACE MELTING BUILD UPS – and BONE CRUSHING DROPS?? Who is ready to RAGE! (or jump). This post is all about the most insane things going on in the EDM world right now. As most of the songs I posted last time are just now being released, I think it’s time to share some of the NEWEST of NEW in EDM with you.

I’m also going to share with you some of the most insane summer festival raging moments that have been going on all over the world in Belgium (Tomorrowland), the UK (SHM Milton Keynes…no not the Olympics), and LA (Kaskade at the STAPLES center). Then I’m also going to give you a little preview of what’s still to come for the end of festival season and some Fall/Winter shows.

So get ready to enter the world of WALBRIDGE WEEKLY TUNES:

First up, ALESSO. This anthem was first played in April at his live sets and is set for official release on August 4th this week. One of my favorite tracks this summer and definitely one of those ‘feel-good’ songs. Alesso is on Sebastian Ingrosso‘s label, Refune Records. Vocals are by Matthew Koma. AMAZING!

Years – Alesso ft. Matthew Koma

Next up we have the same guys that brought you ‘Beating of My Heart‘. Although, it’s not a mix from Matisse & Sadko it is still insanely good. The vocals are from Dan Brown and really go well with this beat. This track is Next To You by M3OX.

Next to You – M3ox ft. Dan Brown

And here’s a special one you guys. ‘Beating of My Heart‘ meets Temper Trap‘s ‘Sweet Dispostion‘. Goes together PERFECT and has been played in sets by Dirty South and Swedish House Mafia members.

Beating of My Sweet Disposition – M3ox vs. The Temper Trap

Now let me bring you back to Alesso for a second. This is a bootleg he has been playing at festivals recently between Nicky Romero & David Guetta‘s ‘Metropolis‘ and Bingo PlayersL’Amour‘. Alesso most likely won’t release this, but other people have done re-boots for us 🙂

L’Amour Metropolis – Bingo Players vs. Nicky Romero & David Guetta

And now who’s ready for one of the most insane BASS lines out there right now! Now I bring you a Tom Staar remix, recently doing work with Deadmau5‘s label mau5trap records. This is his remix of My Digital Enemy & Rob Marmot‘s ‘African Drop‘ (no not African Child). It’s been played by Ingrosso, Axwell, Dirty South, Hardwell, and more. So check it!

African Drop (Tom Staar Remix) – My Digital Enemy & Rob Marmot

Next up we got a massive combination between a Hardwell and a Thomas Gold bootleg. One decided to do a bootleg with One Republic‘s ‘Apologize‘ going into Otto Knows‘ ‘Million Voices‘ and the other did a bootleg with Million Voices and Nari & Milani‘s ‘Atom‘. If you’re not confused yet, combine all of that together and now you have this new bootleg played by Hardwell at EDC Las Vegas.

Million Atoms to Apologize – Otto Knows vs. Nari & Milani vs. One Republic (Ryan Tedder)

And yet another released by Hardwell and Showtek at EDC Las Vegas. A BIG BIG ROOM rager!

How We Do – Hardwell & Showtek

Another combo/bootleg from Alesso. Here he combines his ‘Nillionaire‘, Swedish House Mafia‘s ‘Greyhound‘, and their ‘Antidote’ with Knife Party. Alesso played something similar to this at Tomorrowland 2012.

Greydote Nillionaire – SHM vs. Alesso vs. Knife Party

I’m sorry I just can’t get enough of Alesso‘s tracks. Here’s another one he just did with Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. Swedish House Mafia is literally launching this newly 21 year old to the top of the world. This track is INSANITY!!! It’s called ‘Eclipse‘.

Eclipse – Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Alesso

If you watched Tomorrowland this past weekend then you know that NERVO is releasing tracks like CRAZY! They previewed 3 new songs at the festival and did a great job. Check out the Pixel Cheese remix of their anthem ‘You’re Gonna Love Again‘.

You’re Gonna Love Again (Pixel Cheese Remix) – NERVO

Get that DIRTY DUTCH from DJ Chuckie! Here’s his EDC remix of Antidote. Warning: CRAZY BASS!

Antidote (Chuckie’s EDC Mix) – Swedish House Mafia

And to finish off I have to post something that I already posted before, which I hate doing, but this track is by far the most unreal EDM track out there right now. It’s a killer at every festival, set, concert, and club. Brought to you by no other than Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes with ‘Here We Go‘ on Axwell‘s Axtone label.

Here We Go – Hard Rock Sofa & Swanky Tunes

Alright so I know I promised some festival updates, recaps, and previews; but I’ve been writing this for almost 2 hours so I’m signing off for now. But I promise I’ll get to all that later this week. There’s tons to see from our favorite DJs!! So for now enjoy the new tunes. Rage to them, run to them, drive to them, or just listen to them, but most of all enjoy them. RAGE ON!

[UNIQUE COVERS] Indie Rock Covers of M83, Justice, Telepopmusik, Swedish House Mafia, MGMT

Image

So I’ve stumbled upon some great covers lately and then I realized that over my music discovery days I’ve actually accumulated a number of great covers. Not just ordinary covers though. Covers of singles from electronic artists like M83 and Swedish House Mafia. These are the types of artists most bands are not so keen to do covers for, because the instrumentals are sometimes too difficult to match. However, I think these covers really do their original owners some great justice!

So check em’ out and let me know what you think!

Midnight City – M83 (Cover by: Trails and Ways)

Midnight City – M83 (Cover by: The Knocks ft. Mandy Lee)

One – Swedish House Mafia (Cover by: Foals)

Breathe – Telepopmusik (Cover by: New Navy)

D.A.N.C.E. – Justice (Cover by: Hawa)

Kids – MGMT (Cover by: The Kooks)

Titanium – David Guetta ft. Sia (Cover by Collin McLoughlin)

Hope you enjoyed the tunes! Make sure to check out my next post!
